Import a Code Structure
- The code structure export produces an Excel file with the data. If you want to import code structure data from another software tool into EVMax, you can use the EVMax export file as a model to build the data extract from the other tool.
- You can use the code structure export and import options to create the code structure data. For example, you could enter an initial set of code structure data, export that data, and use Excel functions to copy, add, and edit the rows. Once you have produced the set of code structure data, you can import the data into EVMax. Follow the same export and import process to create a copy of a code structure.
- Select in the Navigation Menu. The Manage Codes tab window displays. The bottom pane displays the list of user defined code structures, Boolean fields, and date fields.
- Select the code structure row you want to import data into.
- Click in the Ribbon Menu. The Add Code window displays.
- Click the dropdown in the Ribbon Menu and then click .

Navigate to the file you want to import, select the file and click . The import process compares the existing code structure data to the data to be imported and displays the results in the Import tab window. Notice the Import Row check box and Import Status columns for each rate row. The Import Status column may be set to "Insert", or "Update" for each row depending on the content of data to be imported.
Tips:
The data in the code structure does not change until you click , so you have an opportunity to scan the columns and rows for any potential errors or unexpected content. You can change the Import Row check box setting to exclude rows you don't want to import. Or, cancel the process and make corrections to the file before you import the data.
Notice the option in the Import tab window. Clicking displays a Mapping tab window. For each code structure Required Column, map it to the applicable import File Column from the dropdown. Once you move to the Mapping tab, you must complete the mapping. Click to move back to the Import tab window.
- Click . A Messages window displays the results of the import process. Read the messages to verify the data imported without any errors.
